Devotional service even done very little, it is not lost.
So the temple means to give chance to everyone, even to the child, to advance one step to Kṛṣṇa consciousness.
One step, Svalpam apy asya dharmasya trāyate mahato bhayāt.
In every chapter of Bhagavad-gītā, Lord Kṛṣṇa stresses that devotional service unto the Supreme Personality of Godhead is the ultimate goal of life. (BG 18.1)
Even little is accepted and is done, it becomes into account. Just like if you deposit even two annas in the bank, it is kept on your account. It will increase with interest. Similarly, devotional service even done very little, it is not lost.
”It is your good fortune that you can serve Krishna in so many ways — to work, to write, to speak, to paint, to build — all of these talents must be employed in Krishna’s service. That will make you perfect.
(Srila Prabhupada Letter, November 12, 1968)
“So our this movement is based on practical activity. Whatever talent you have got, whatever little strength you have got, education you have got… You haven’t got to learn anything. Whatever you have got, in whatever position you are, you can serve Krishna.
(Srila Prabhupada Lecture, Mayapur, March 1, 1977)
Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (10.22.35):
etāvaj janma-sāphalyaṁ dehinām iha dehiṣu prāṇair arthair dhiyā vācā śreya-ācaraṇaṁ sadā
It is the duty of every living being to perform welfare activities for the benefit of others with his life, wealth, intelligence and words.” This is the mission of life.
Yes, I want to do some Seva to the Temple.
Seva should be done WITHOUT personal motivations
“Anyone who engages in spiritual devotional service without motivation, rendering such service for the satisfaction of the Lord, is elevated immediately to the spiritual platform, and all his activities are spiritual.” (CC Adi 14.29, Purport)
Here is the list of Services that you can render to the Temple for the pleasure of Their Lordships Sri Lakshmi Narasimha and Sri Krishna
Śrīla Śukadeva Gosvāmī is presenting the prime necessity for devotional service to the Lord, which is the only occupational business of all living entities. (SB 2.10.10)
So the temple means to give chance to everyone, even to the child, to advance one step to Kṛṣṇa consciousness. One step. Svalpam apy asya dharmasya trāyate mahato bhayāt.
Hare Krishna Movement – Bhilai-Raipur is home to Their most beautiful Lordships, Sri Sri Radha-Krishnachandra, Sri Sri Nitai-Gauranga and is a wonderful spiritual oasis in an otherwise materially surcharged steel city. Dedicated to the spiritual upliftment of society, our community of both resident and non-resident volunteers lovingly serve either physically at the Temple or from outside to ensure that activities at the Temple run smoothly.
Our vibrant community of volunteers serve in diverse areas including administration, book distribution, deity worship, devotee care, food distribution, harinama sankirtana, kitchen services, maintenance, outreach, visitor care and, of course, the many events and festivals that we hold throughout the year!
Within each area, our volunteers come together bringing their unique skills and talents and work together for the pleasure of Their Lordships.
We are always looking for enthusiastic people keen to give their skills, talents and time in service to Lord Krishna. We call it “seva”. In Sanskrit, the word “seva” means “selfless service” or work performed without any desire for repayment or reward. Seva benefits us personally, bringing great joy and satisfaction to the heart. It also benefits the community as a whole.
If you are wondering how can you get involved with any of the departments/ activities, you need not think more. We have done some homework on your behalf and put together 4 simple ways shown on the right.
Pick one (or more) based not only on your interest(s) but also on the kind of commitment you can give to the team.
Got some Skills?
There are many skill based activities/ services that need enthusiastic volunteers like you.
Please call us at 97550 98618 or mail us at hkmbhilai@gmail.com so that your skills can be best used in the service of the Lord.
Have an Interest?
If you feel that you would like to work in an area, please feel free to call us at 97550 98618 or to mail us at hkmbhilai@gmail.com and express your interest.
More than material qualifications, a genuine desire to do service is considered superior.
Can spare Time?
We understand that you might be busy with your studies or jobs, etc. But if you still feel that you can take some time out of your busy schedule to do some devotional service, please explain your time limitations together with your desire to the department representative and you’d be surprised to know how much can you contribute.
Monetarily/ Financially?
If you feel you cannot volunteer in any of the earlier three ways still there is no reason to despair. Most of the activities require financial assistance to achieve results and we would welcome your support in terms of financial commitment (once-off or monthly).
Kindly contact our temple devotee and register your interest.
